The face lift of the Digital Pulp website was incredibly satisfying, especially the explorations of the news, social media features, and mobile friendly CSS for the new site and blog.

I was asked to create the information architecture and lead the design and execution of the DP iPhone app . My two favorite feature are the “Web Zen: wise words from the world of web development”, an inspiration deck of quotes gathered from the Digital Pulp staff, and the portfolio section, which takes in a feed from flickr.com and present clients from flickr sets and galleries.

For the 2009 client Christmas cards we designed a interactive diorama creator, called Digital Pulp’s Card-o-rama, which acts as a viral marketing campaign to gain exposure for Digital Pulp. This was a very fun project, and as it has been a while since I’ve done a pure flash site, so I was reminded of the limitations and possibilities this web platform.

A very satisfying aspect of this project was the sound design, as the three key areas needed their own sound tracks, and these sound tracks couldn’t get irritating. Gathering samples, I worked closely with a sound designer to bring the appropriate ambience to the Card-o-rama project.
