The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is a private, independent foundation established by Jack Kent Cooke to help exceptionally promising students reach their full potential through education. Launched in 2000, the Foundation focuses in particular on students with financial need.

This project involved the creation of a new public website, five extranets, and a social networking platform for current and alumni scholars.

The greatest challenge of this project was creating the very complex members model, which due to the nature of it holding the profiles of numerous scholars under the age of 18, had to have a business logic to both share these students profiles amongst the scholar community, and protect the younger scholars from the greater public.

This project was developed in Ruby on Rails, and extended the open source CMS ‘Radiant‘.
